I am a proud wife & mother of 2, Henry aka Hank & Colton! Colton is 12yrs. old, and
Hank is 3. Both of whom have such completely different personalities but
seem to have one thing in common… which is keeping me on my toes, 100% of the time!
I also have Ruby, my sweet souled Saint Bernard
My life is consumed with my boys, family and everything else in between. If you can’t
find me at the grocery store, you can assume that I am either juggling play dates, after school activities, cleaning the house (5 to 6x a day..) & working full time! Yes! I also have a 9-5 job that I juggle but also love as well! My life is full of multi-tasking and enjoying
the sweet moments as they come.
I created Zzzilly Goose Sleep Consulting, LLC because I wanted to give the gift back to families that I was given! It took me so many months to decide if I wanted to invest in hiring a sleep consultant. It was important to me that I found the right one.. Once I found her, I was hooked.
Henry, my youngest, was the best newborn baby. He slept great, napped great, took his
bottles like a champ and life was smooth sailing. It wasn’t until he hit the 4 month mark & started waking up constantly throughout the night. In return, he needed me to fall back asleep. This was (literally) the only way he would go back to sleep. While being on maternity leave, I
was his main person to put him to sleep. I knew everything that he liked, how to do it & at
what time to do it. It was easier if I just did it. I was fine with this because I had nowhere to be. My husband always tried to help but truthfully, it was more work for me if he did it. That was my first mistake.. Henry became reliant on only me for all sleep related things. So, in return, I did all the nighttime routines, night wakings & feedings and this carried on until he was almost 3 yrs old… Occasionally, I would get a night here and there of sleep from those growth spurts, but I finally caved because I just couldn’t take the limited
amount of sleep anymore. On top of working full time and keeping up with life I was failing. This boy had me trained to work on his schedule and I was doing it.. Those early morning
wakings were THE WORST. Sleepovers at grandmas were nonexistent & nap time with
someone else rarely happened because they just didn’t know his minute by minute wants
the way I did. The faster I got him to sleep, the faster I could then go to sleep. I just kept
telling myself eventually it would get better.
My pediatrician was able to give me solutions to all of my other struggles but sleep was one
that was not getting better. I looked up those catchy articles that said “Ways to get your
child to sleep in 5 minutes” and those never worked.. Rocking
Henry to sleep turned into me having to sleep on the floor next to his big boy bed to go to
sleep & stay asleep. We tried the cry it out method but it only made it worse.. we tried
having him go to bed later thinking he would sleep longer and that backfired.. nothing
worked.
I kept saying to my husband, “one more month and if he doesn’t start to sleep better, we
will hire one” and I kept dragging that. Henry was still waking up 3-4 times a night, mastered the art of stalling before bedtime & started having nightmares. I was at a complete loss & reached my limit, so I caved & found my Sleep Consultant. She was the “secret sauce”… Within a week, he was staying in his bed, tolerated me not being in the room
to go to sleep & stayed asleep for majority of the night. That was only 4 days into our sleep
training.. Hiring her was the best.decision.ever. Henry to this day, doesn’t fight the nighttime transition,
goes to bed on his own, stays asleep the whole night and starts his day around 6:30 AM.
